The Teacher position provides special education in a highly structured and safe environment to adolescent students in residential treatment for behavioral disorders. Responsibilities include:
- Assessing each youth's social, educational and emotional needs, and intervening therapeutically to promote learning and positive peer and adult interactions.
- Completing lesson plans, IEPs, report cards, Behavior Scales, and quarterly progress reports on established schedules.
- Participation with a team of professionals, including other teachers, parents/guardians, therapist, and psychologist to review progress, and to develop/implement appropriate education plans.
This is a twelve-month position.Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Education with Special Education concentration required. Must be classified as Highly Qualified in a specific area(s).
- Georgia Teaching Certificate required.
- Must possess basic personal computer knowledge and skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
