Position Purpose - Under the School Principal's supervision, the Business Teacher imparts practical business skills, emphasizing entrepreneurship and financial literacy, while integrating real-world examples and industry trends into engaging lessons.
Qualifications: - Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Must be resident of New Jersey or attain residency within one year unless exempted under the law
Performance
Responsibilities:
- Instructs students in fundamental business skills, covering areas such as finance, entrepreneurship, and effective communication.
- Develops and delivers engaging lessons that incorporate real-world business examples and industry trends.
- Designs assessments and adjusts teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning needs of individual students.

Compensation 2024-2025 contractual rateThe Essex County Vocational and Technical High Schools are public schools supported by County, State and Federal Funds. There are five such programs operated by the Board of Education for the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex. These include four high schools and one adult center. In addition to salary, the Board of Education offers fringe benefits to all employees.
