Position Purpose - Under the School Principal's supervision, the Multimedia Teacher inspires creativity and technical proficiency in students by teaching multimedia production skills. They integrate current industry practices and digital tools into engaging lessons, fostering students' abilities to create and analyze multimedia content across various platforms.
Qualifications: - Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Must be resident of New Jersey or attain residency within one year unless exempted under the law
Performance
Responsibilities:
- Instructs students in fundamental multimedia skills, including video production, graphic design, audio editing, and digital storytelling.
- Develops and delivers engaging lessons that incorporate current industry trends and multimedia tools.
- Designs assessments and adjusts teaching methods to accommodate the diverse learning needs of individual students.
- Prepares students for success in the evolving digital media landscape through comprehensive instruction.
- Collaborates with colleagues to stay abreast of current educational trends and industry practices in multimedia.

This position is governed by the collective bargaining agreement by and between the Board of Education and the Essex County Vocational Education Association. Compensation 2024-2025 contractual rateThe Essex County Vocational and Technical High Schools are public schools supported by County, State and Federal Funds. There are five such programs operated by the Board of Education for the Vocational Schools in the County of Essex. These include four high schools and one adult center. In addition to salary, the Board of Education offers fringe benefits to all employees.
