Role Overview:As a Behavior Aide/Paraprofessional, you'll be essential in helping classroom teachers by working closely with special education students, both individually and in small groups, to enhance their academic journey. Your contributions will have a significant positive impact on these children's growth and development.
Competitive hourly rate of $21-$24, paid weekly
Consistent Monday to Friday schedule
No weekend work required
Typical hours: 8am to 2:30/3pm, for a total of 30-35 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Behavioral Support: Implement and monitor behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), provide positive reinforcement, and apply de-escalation techniques as needed.
Individualized Support: Offer tailored, one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs, customizing materials and strategies to fit their unique requirements.
Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to manage classroom behaviors, foster student engagement, and create an inclusive learning environment.
Data Collection: Accurately track and record student progress, behaviors, and interventions to inform the special education team.
Communication: Establish and maintain strong relationships with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure cohesive support for students.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
High School Diploma
Experience working with children
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to stay calm and patient in challenging situations
English proficiency
Preferred:
Experience in special education, particularly with moderate to severe behaviors
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies
CPR and First Aid certification
