Position Type: Special Education/Teacher ConsultantDate Posted: 9/17/2024Location: Special Education Services Closing Date: Open until filledDistrict: Genesee Intermediate School DistrictJob Summary: The Teacher Specialist for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders serves in a consultive/supportive role with staff, students, parents and representatives from local districts and community agencies. Responsible for coordination, development and implementation of instructional programs within assigned areas.Available: One (1) full-time position; 7.0 hours per day, 186 days per year (Academic calendar). Salary: Certificated Salary Schedule. Genesee Intermediate Education Association (GIEA). A competitive salary schedule featuring educational pay lanes and steps. Years of service will be considered. Benefits: We offer five different health plans along with dental, vision, life and disability insurance after one full day of employment. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Option 1: An individual may be employed under a Teacher Specialist for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder when either currently endorsed in Autism Spectrum Disorder Area, pursuant to R 340.1799 or working toward an endorsement in the area of assignment and possessing one (1) of the following three (3) requirements: A Master's degree; A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience, not less than two (2) years of which are in Special Education; or full approval as a Teacher Consultant. Option 2: An individual may be employed as a Teacher Specialist for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder when licensed by Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) as a Master Level Social Worker, Speech and Language Pathologist, or Occupational Therapist. Social Workers, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists will be required to complete START training. Apply By: Internal applications accepted through September 21, 2024.
