The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Technology Support Specialist & Coding Teacher. The candidate would be responsible for all STEM curriculum instruction for grade-level students. Knowledge of common core curriculum related to technology and coding standards would be beneficial. The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students is imperative.Essential Functions1. Chromebook Management:
- Maintain an inventory of student Chromebooks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure Chromebooks are functioning optimally.
- Organize and deploy Chromebooks for classroom use as needed.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with Chromebooks and provide timely solutions.
2. Teacher Laptop Support:
- Provide technical assistance and support to teachers regarding laptop issues.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on teacher laptops.
- Install necessary software and updates on teacher laptops.
- Ensure that teacher laptops are ready for use in classrooms and meetings.
3. Coding and Technology Instruction:
- Design and implement coding and technology lessons for students in grades K-8.
- Integrate coding concepts into the curriculum across various subjects.
- Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their learning journey.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align coding lessons with academic standards.
4. New School Year Preparation:
- Prepare and configure technology resources for the new school year.
- Assist in the setup of classroom technology infrastructure.
- Collaborate with IT staff to ensure all systems are updated and operational before the start of the school year.
- Conduct training sessions for teachers on technology usage, coding integration, and troubleshooting procedures.
5. Technical Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical support inquiries from students and teachers.
- Respond to support tickets promptly and resolve issues effectively.
- Document technical procedures and maintain knowledge base resources for future reference.
- Collaborate with IT team members to address complex technical challenges.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest developments in educational technology and coding education.
- Identify opportunities to enhance technological resources and coding curriculum within the school.
- Provide recommendations for hardware and software upgrades based on the needs of students and teachers.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, computer science or equivalent
- MSDE teacher certification preferred
- Knowledge of curriculum, and principles and practices of pedagogy
- Must be proficient in using a variety of technology during daily lessons as well as enriching and differentiating instruction
- Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal fingerprint background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork
