Summary/Objective: The Teaching Artist will facilitate identified dance programs managed by the Philadelphia Ballet Community Education and Public Programs (CEPP) Department. The position is a part-time seasonal role.Essential Functions:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Allowing sufficient preparation time by arriving to school sites ten minutes in advance of class
- Compliance with all Covid-19 and other safety protocols in place at each school site
- Commitment to all classes as scheduled
- Attendance at mandatory professional development sessions
- Attendance at rehearsals and performances as requested by Philadelphia Ballet staff
- Other duties as assigned
Expected Hours of Work: Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Days and hours for this role are determined based upon school placement and are expected to fall within a Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. timeframe.Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day. Teaching Artist are required to provide their own transportation.Required Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- 3 years teaching High School level dancers
- 2 years teaching in a Public High School setting
- Studied innovative, creative ways in which improvisational peer workshopping cultivates choreographic work.
- Utilizing conceptual ideas and themes as the catalyst for choreography.
- Using non-traditional muses as origin for choreography such as imagery, text, nature, and concepts.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must provide satisfactory background checks and child abuse clearances as may be required for role.
