Call to Artists!

The Arts Council of Kern is seeking talented teaching artists in visual, performing, literary, or media arts to engage and inspire students in Kern County schools through a six-week artist-in-residence program. Share your passion and expertise with young minds and make an impact on the local community!

Requirements:

• Submit your resume, including your experience in your field, at least one reference, and a summary of your proposed curriculum.

• All candidates must complete fingerprinting and provide proof of a recent tuberculosis test. The Arts Council will facilitate and cover the costs of both tests.

Details:

• Compensation: $50 for each 45-minute class, plus mileage and supply costs.

• Schedule: Every effort will be made to schedule at least two 45-minute sessions per school site, per day.

• Additional Stipend: $25 per day for preparation time.

• Total hourly rate is estimated at $50 to $75, depending on preparation time.
