Teaching Assistant at Rebecca Schools1 Bradford Rd Mount Vernon, NY 10553, USARebecca School is an independent, private therapeutic day school for children ages 3 to 21, promoting the education and development of children with neurodevelopmental delays of relating and communicating, including autism spectrum disorders. Rebecca school was founded in 2006 and utilizes the DIRFloortime® model (Developmental, Individual-difference, Relationship-based) developed by Stanley Greenspan, M.D.What we offer:
- Compensation: $40,000 - $45,000 salary based on education level (minimum of a bachelor's degree) and experience.
- Consistent Pay: Bi-weekly pay schedule.

- Schedule: Monday-Friday Monday, Thursday and Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM Tuesday and Wednesday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM.

Job Responsibilities:
- Attends and participates in classroom/team meetings, child review meetings, staff trainings, Teacher Assistance meetings, and Greenspan meetings.
- Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs and continuing education programs.
- Maintains and organizes the classroom where children can easily access/clean-up items independently.
- Ensures that there is a balance of challenging/safe items for the children to engage in
- Maintains professional relationships with all staff
- Follows through with appropriate treatment plans for children as necessary
- Supports development of child through academics, social emotional and physical domains.
- Assists Rebecca School when needed (i.e. bussing, trip leadership etc.)
- Follows classroom routines and assists teacher with transitions
- Provides coverage if needed throughout the building
Qualifications:
- Candidate must Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience with students with neurodevelopmental delays.
- Candidate must possess bachelor's degree
Preferred/Nice to have:
- NYS Teaching Assistant Certification.
- Knowledge of DIRFloortime® Model.
