POSITION SUMMARYBold's Teaching Fellowship Program is a highly-selective, school-based training program that empowers aspiring teachers with the training, skills, and experiences needed to become highly effective teachers. Ideal candidates are those who hold a commitment toimproving educational outcomes in traditionally underserved communities. The Teaching Fellowship Program provides strategic, programmatic, and financial support over the course of two years, as Teaching Fellows hold full-time teaching positions at Bold as Teaching Fellows in year one and Lead Teachers in year two. Bold Teaching Fellows are supported by an instructional leader to develop the skills and expertise to grow into a highly effective teacher.Bold covers all expenses related to obtaining a New York State Teaching Certification. Bold contributes to, and in some cases fully covers, the cost of a Fellow's graduate school tuition for a Master's Degree. To support Bold's commitment to hiring, developing, and retaining a diverse teaching staff who is representative of the communities we serve, a scholarship for additional financial aid is available.As a Teaching Fellow at Bold Charter School, you will work closely with a Lead Teacher to ensure that every student experiences a joyful, engaging, and rigorous learning environment every day. You will take on increased levels of responsibility throughout the year, with the support of a Lead Teacher, to model and inspire a love of learning that will equip each student to succeed in school and thrive in life. You will be part of a results-oriented and collaborative team of professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of educational excellence. You will receive regular coaching and feedback, and will have opportunities to grow into a Lead Teacher and transformative leader within the organization.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Building a classroom culture that is joyful, engaging, and rigorous, and in which students love learning
- Teaching reading, writing, and math through an inquiry-based, rigorous curriculum that inspires intellectual curiosity and develops critical thinking
- Working collaboratively with other teachers, and taking on increasing instructional responsibilities while progressing towards the Lead Teacher role
- Driving high academic outcomes for all students by regularly analyzing data, studying scholar work, and implementing high leverage instructional strategies to ensure gains for all students
- Modeling a love of reading and taking on an active role in building a strong culture of reading across the school
- Modeling Bold's core values and building a positive student and team culture across the school
- Training with colleagues and school leaders, which includes regularly implementing feedback with grace and urgency in service of student achievement, a values-based school culture, and a positive professional work environment
- Developing strong relationships with families and students, including regular communication that creates high levels of investment in school culture and academics
- Demonstrating a mission-first mindset to ensure all decisions and actions are rooted in ensuring that all students excel

Start DateStart of the 2024-25 school year (July 2024). CompensationThe starting salary for a teaching fellow position is $80,000 annually, with a competitive benefits package. For those continuing in the role after their first year, annual salary ranges from $80,000-$90,000 and is reviewed annually based on individual performance in the role.
