Job Description:
DescriptionEssential FunctionsCompliance:
  • Ensure that all client environments are in compliance with minimum standards
  • Maintain client safety guidelines
  • Supervise and monitor clients closely at all times in accordance with the Treatment Team recommendations
  • Ensure that client treatment is in accordance with the client's Treatment Plan and IEP
  • Ensure that clients are free from neglect and abuse
  • Report allegations of neglect and abuse to TDFPS and/or Executive Director or designee
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Ensure that all clients are properly supervised and cared for according to BAC Policy
  • Adhere to employee rules and company policy
  • Adhere to the BAC Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics
  • Ensure that BAC is a harassment-free work place
  • Report concerns to a supervisor
  • Relay information to supervisor and / or appropriate staff
  • Follow through with supervisor requests / assignments
  • Education:
  • Assist classroom teacher in implementation and evaluation of IEP goals and objectives and documentation
  • Facilitate learning activities for all individuals throughout each school day
  • Maintain educational atmosphere
  • Teaching Home:
  • Ensure that the home is clean and free from unsanitary conditions at all times
  • Maintain a learning atmosphere in the home that respects the needs of all individuals
  • Take initiative to perform household related activities (laundry, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cooking, cleaning, etc.)
  • without being asked by supervisor
  • Follow through with Treatment Plan and IEP implementation in the home and community environments
  • Follow through with educational program in the home by:
  • a. supervising / assisting client in completing homework / assignmentsb. encouraging functional independencec. encouraging appropriate social behavior22. Take initiative to develop/schedule activities for clients during down timea. following through with recreational program/calendar by developing and engaging clients in client focused recreational activities that: 1. lead to independence 2. encourage social interactions with peers and adults 3. are age appropriate and socially appropriate b. following through with the animal therapy program by: 1. engaging clients with animals in cooperation with animal care services 2. training and assisting clients to care for animals including feeding, grooming, and maintaining theanimals areas
  • Monitor and assist clients with self-care including toileting (changing soiled clothes), showering, dressing, shaving, etc. according to schedule and as needed
  • Safely transport clients to and from school and community
  • Documentation:
  • Accurately complete appropriate documentation and data collection for clients
  • Adequately maintain receipts and records of client expenditures ensuring appropriate use of funds
  • Physical Interventions:
  • Utilize physical prompting with clients appropriately
  • Safely implements Emergency Behavior Intervention in order to minimize potential injury to a child

    Job Skills/Requirements:A. Education:Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in related field ORMinimum High School Diploma / GED with documented college experience and related work experience

  • Required - CPR Required - First Aid C. Training: Complete additional annual training according to the Teaching Parent Training CalendarD. License: A current valid Texas Drivers License with the ability to be insured under commercial vehicle liability insurance.E. Other Requirements:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (according to TDFPS)
  • Must pass Criminal History Check
  • Must pass Drug and Alcohol Testing (initial, on-going, and random)
  • Physical Demand:Due to the nature of this job, many of the areas related to physical demand are very heavy at times and sedentary at others. However, they are marked as VH because when necessary the strength required is very heavy .
