Job Summary

Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and Developmental Services is expanding crisis services and seeks dynamic licensed mental health professionals to lead the Emergency Servies Team, which is a rapidly growing team of mental health professionals specializing in crisis intervention and stabilization services. The Emergency Services Team evaluates individuals experiencing behavioral health and developmental disability crises and links them, their families, and their support systems with the least restrictive treatment options. Services include mobile crisis response to designated community locations, law enforcement and behavioral health community response, and the facilitation of the civil commitment process. As a member of both teams, the Behavioral Health Team Leader II uses their expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disabilities to support 24-hour crisis response through direct supervision of: clinical and operational program components, including direct oversight of clinical and administrative staff, development and maintenance of community partnerships, and oversight of new and existing subprograms. May also provide direct services. Successful candidates thrive in complex, fast-paced, and dynamic clinic-based and community settings, and use astute clinical acumen, creative problem solving, and flexibility in their collaborative approach to leadership and community services. Must be a licensed mental health professional, with experience providing crisis intervention and stabilization services. Regular schedule includes days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and county closures, in addition to supervisory on-call to support 24/7/365 community crisis response. Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for a $6,000 hiring bonus in accordance with the County's Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in a field eligible for professional licensure as: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP); Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner; Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist; Medical Doctor (MD); Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Must be professionally licensed with three (3) years of professional experience in mental health and/or substance use treatment and/or and experience working in emergency services. Supervisory experience is preferred.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, credit check, driving record check and TB test. Must have a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
