  • Responsible for leading a team of creatives in the planning, development and execution of internal creative requests in support of various company initiatives.
  • Helps the team to innovate and stay on top of advertising trends and best practices, always advocating in the best interest of the customer.
  • Acts as a brand advocate to ensure education and proper implementation of American Airlines brand standards among various internal marketing and work groups.
  • This role is part of the Brand & Advertising Marketing team within our Marketing group.

  • Prioritization, resource allocation and process management for the development of multiple creative projects at once including paid media, owned channel and sponsorship campaigns.
  • Applies critical thinking to creative development, ensuring work incorporates emotional storytelling, adheres to media best practices, and successfully meets target KPIs as outlined in the brief or job order
  • Ideates creative that is rooted in timeless and contemporary insights, keeping the customer POV top of mind
  • Adept at building creative presentations from insights to strategy to execution
  • Presents and sells great creative in a compelling and concise fashion.
  • Cultivates internal creative talent by inspiring innovative ideas, as well as giving detailed copy and design feedback to execute best-in-class creative across platforms.
  • Oversee internal production of concept managing review, edit and approval processes.
  • Evaluates creative team performance and guides improvements.
  • Ensures American brand identity and messaging consistency across projects
  • Oversees brand guidelines evolution and document re-fresh. Communicates and educates others on brand guidelines.

All you'll need for successMinimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • Senior-level creative with 3+ years of experience in a creative agency or working as part of an internal creative team
  • Solid knowledge of marketing, brand and design principles and development
  • Experience leading and managing creative teams
  • Online portfolio demonstrating proficiency in graphic design/art direction as well as advertising concept and strategy
  • Well-rounded in all mediums (TV, Digital/Social, OOH, Print, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Experience as an Sr. Art Director or higher
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Self-starter and strong project manager: ability to independently establish a process and create structure to guide a project from start to completion and lead the team to a successful, timely outcome.
  • Excellent understanding of fundamentals of design
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Collaborative with multiple stakeholders; communication, teamwork, and the ability to influence cross-functional peer groups and inspire positive action is critical
  • Ability to manage multiple creative requests and allocate resources according to creative needs
  • Top-notch written and verbal communication/presentation skills with a strong attention to detail
