Summary

The Team Lead is responsible for supporting the day to day activities of team members in a given department. The Team Leader is constantly on the floor to monitor and assess team members' performance and ensure all supplies and equipment are ready and available for the team members to complete the task effectively and efficiently.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Plan, oversee and participate in the warehouse operations and activities of the team; motivate and foster teamwork and provide constructive feedback; work to assure the facility is maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
  • Prioritize department workload on a daily basis by working with the supervisor.
  • Train, provide work direction, and coordinate the schedules and activities for assigned team members.
  • Monitor and assess work performance against daily objectives; recognize issues and determine when action is needed in order to maintain adherence to goals.
  • Observe and inspect team compliance with policies and procedures; notify leadership when team is off track and assist supervisor to resolve issues.
  • Utilize systems, tools and processes to maintain product quality, operating efficiencies and inventory integrity.
  • Use relevant resources to generate potential ideas for improvement within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Encourage and instill a team discipline of clean & accurate data entry and record keeping achieving the highest levels of system integrity and customer service.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned to support warehouse activities.
  • Follow standard operating procedures when performing tasks.
  • Job Experience/Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years minimum level of experience in a similar leadership position.
  • PC skills including Excel/Word.
  • Must be able to pass the material handling equipment certification test and drive a designated equipment on a daily basis.
  • Must have previous work experience operating an RF Gun.
  • Excellent math, reading, communication (both verbal and written), and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Licensing/Certification/Registration

  • Powered Industrial Truck Certification.
  • Travel

    Work is performed in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, lift/move up to 50 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel or crouch.
