This position is in Cargill's protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Type: Full Time

Shift Available: 2nd

Compensation: $27.60 /hr.

Accountabilities:

  • Perform assigned lead activities.
  • Operate equipment and technology tools throughout the production facility, backfilling prior areas as needed, utilizing a broad understanding of varied and multi-dimensional processes to perform required duties.
  • Support others in learning operating procedures, provide input to peers and recommend changes to ensure clarity and effectiveness of guidance, including procedure documentation.
  • Perform maintenance and lead troubleshooting efforts throughout the facility, making adjustments or instructing others as necessary.
  • Ensure recording of production and inventory activities by the team is entered into computerized systems.
  • Operate mobile powered equipment (i.e forklift, skid loader, sit down floor sweeper, front end loader).
  • Understand and ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures, maintain a safe and clean work environment and control work pace and progress on assigned equipment and processes, requiring awareness of links with other process areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

    • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
    • Cargill requires employees to be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility.
    • Must have a valid Driver's License.
    • High School Diploma/GED or a minimum of two years relevant work experience.
    • Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice.
    • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
    • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
    • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
    • Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Office).

    Qualifications:

    • Experience operating and troubleshooting industrial equipment (ex., packaging machinery, etc.).
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in production-related work.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner.
    • Actively demonstrate Safety Leadership.
    • Experience using a computer, SAP system is a plus.
