Responsibilities
- Follow all safety rules and regulations; wear PPE.
- Read, understand and follow work instructions.
- Follow quality requirements to meet or exceed specifications.
- Effectively communicate with employees from your own and other departments to ensure a team environment.
- Be the voice of Quality in the Extrusion/Rewind Department.
- Determine root cause and implement timely and appropriate corrective actions for Extrusion/Rewind Department internal and customer complaints.
- Identify and implement new test methods/protocols with appropriate frequencies for new and existing products as needed. Provide the necessary training to department team members.
- Provide supplier related information including, sample collection, claim documentation and other relevant information to assist in the submission of Supplier claims resulting in satisfactory corrective/preventive action and improved future raw material supply.
- Support and assist in customers and suppliers on site and as needed during audits.
- Develop quality metrics. Identify minimum response time for root cause analysis, corrective actions, material dispositions, and track accordingly. Manage internal reject disposition and reporting on a daily basis.
- Perform department specific quality tasks including:
- Perform Quality audits on operator generated data.
- Perform regimented Quality validation.
- Perform visual and analytical checks on retained samples and real time production samples for comparative testing.
- Validate conformance of incoming raw materials (WIP).
- Audit and Validate internal corrective action response to close out or internal issues.
- Become a trained auditor and audit areas as assigned.
- Understand and demonstrate use of quality principles including 6-Sigma and LEAN Manufacturing.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Quality related field from four-year College or University preferred.
- Three years related experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six Sigma Belt Certification preferred.
- Product or industry specific machine experience.
- Basic Mechanical Skills.
- High School Level Mathematics.
- Troubleshooting/Problem Solving Skills.

Work Environment
Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required.
