We'd love to hear from you.About the position:This is a senior lending professional role within the front office. As player-coach, you will carry primary responsibility for some of the key processes related to lending transactions, along with guiding a team of juniors that executes new lending transactions and works closely with the client relationship managers and sector experts to originate new lending transactions.Responsibilities:
  • The Transaction Management Team will be involved with every new lending transaction and will take primary responsibility for some of the key processes including:
    • Prepare the credit approval packages including annexes and all requisite attachments;
    • Prepare financial models with sensitivity analysis and validation of key assumptions;
    • Run internal models such as Risk Rater and Loan Pricer and interface with risk management to establish the appropriate internal risk rating. Upload financials into ING Systems (e.g. FINAN);
    • Interface with loan operations, treasury and the lending center of excellence to verify limit availability and compliance with internal policies;
    • Review legal documentation and validate key terms & conditions;
    • Responsible for deal closing including final CPs and obtaining the final loan documents.
  • The Transaction Management Team will work closely with the client relationship managers and/or the Deal Principle on the origination and deal structuring including:
    • Preparation of marketing materials and lending analytics for clients in the Americas region;
    • Due diligence and analytics;
    • Term sheet negotiations and forming a club or syndicate;
    • Greenlight memo, presentation and discussion with Risk Management;
    • Analysis of different transaction structures and providing recommendations;
    • Business comparables and analysis of debt structures, performance metrics and debt pricing.
  • Ensure a consistent level of quality and policy compliance through training and development activities;
  • Stay up-to-date on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure appropriate protocols are implemented and followed, and facilitate accordingly;
  • Guide a team of juniors by supporting them in their personal and professional development as lending professionals.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • BA/BS in finance/economics/accounting/management/engineering (or similar); CFA a plus;
  • 7+ years of relevant lending experience;
  • Expertise in corporate and project finance loan origination and execution;
  • Strong credit skills and understanding of debt capital markets;
  • Coaching skills;
  • Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works;
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively across functions and regions;
  • Strong presentation and communication skills;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities;
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in a deal oriented and deadline driven environment;
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
