**Overview**

**The Role and Team**

**This position is working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 14:00-22:00.**

Your role as Team Leader within our Sweets Department will be delivering plan completion; controlling costs, ensuring that KPI targets are achieved, coming up with continuous improvement ideas and implementation. You will ensure that the department runs to its maximum efficiency with right first time quality productivity. The department is keen to promote excellent team work by employing people who have a positive (can do) attitude. By achieving this, the department is in the best position to produce products in an efficient manner. We aim to not only achieve our targets but improve on them as well.

**Responsibilities**

* Ensure departmental hygiene standards are in-line with external audits and compliant with allergen production and product changeovers to prevent cross contamination.

* Knowledge of the areas CCPs and ensure 100% compliance.

* All Materials within your area to have full traceability details.

* Engage with QFSA during Hygiene + Housekeeping audits agree timescales for corrective actions and deliver on time.

* Proactively work with QFSA to ensure adoption of any changes to the BRC std that affect your area, to maintain AA status.

Health and Safety

* Report Near Misses and Safety events you see.

* Thorough accident reporting and investigation.

* Create a safety awareness culture e.g. through training.

* Actively participate in departmental risk assessments.

* Create S.O.Ps for the processs in your area, create training plan to ensure all relevant staff operate to agreed standard.

Hygiene

* Ensure all operators follow correct personal hygiene procedures (e.g. changing processes, hand washing procedures).

* Ensure all operators operate to a clean (and tidy) as you go policy.

* Undertake Intermediate Food Hygiene training: a pass level must be obtained.

Housekeeping

* Take an active role in implementing 5 S ethos.

* Actively promote continuous improvement in hygiene standards in particular on product change overs to avoid allergen and component cross contamination.

* Adopt a clean as you go policy

People

* Lead, motivate and develop a team of people

* Conduct One to Ones with all the team every 3 months

* Identify and facilitate ways for team members to develop and increase their contribution (training).

* Carry out return to work interviews

* Ensure adherence to rules & procedures, and standards

* Keep team members regularly informed of the teams performance/production target

Communication

* Actively encourage feedback from team with open and honest discussions on production targets

* Conduct daily reviews of performance with team in order to drive improvements, labour and material utilisation.

* Promote and work within the apetito Code of Conduct.

* Ensure communication is conducted with other departments when required in relation to issues in your area of work.

Other

Assist with NPD Trials when conducted in your area on your shift and report back to Shift manager how it went.

Support and be involved with Project teams working on improvements in the department. Scanning in all areas a focus going forward

Help the business be environmentally friendly:

- by ensuring that waste is segregated appropriately so it can be sent to the correct point of disposal/recycling

- by keeping waste to a minimum (e.g. making products right first time)

* Have a can do attitude; will try to learn other tasks in the department if required

* Promote good team work help others. Its not my job does not promote good team work

* Have a desire to help the team meet the department targets

* Undertake any training made available/organised

* Lead by example

**About you**

**Essential:**

* Good standards of English and Maths

* Basic computer skills in word and excel

**Desirable:**

* Level 3 Food Safety

* IOSH Managing Safety, Behavioral Safety

**Personal Qualities:**
