Platinum Crush will help meet the expanding global demand for protein and oils in the feed, food, and fuel markets, including animal nutrition, human nutrition, and renewable fuels. The Shift Team Leader is responsible for the overall operations of the facility in a safe and efficient manner keeping the company goals and objectives evident. Maintains the leadership and management of Operations crew by enforcing policies an procedures. Effectively coordinates with other departments to ensure maximum efficiency and production of the facility. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Maintain effective communication with all areas of the plant.
- Responsible for the direct supervision of the Production Operators including delegating responsibilities as needed to keep the department working efficiently.
- Conduct performance reviews as necessary for those the Shift Supervisor oversees.
- Provide counseling to employees in the form of verbal and written corrective action when necessary.
- Support and follow the company's policies and procedures as outlined in the Platinum Crush Employee Handbook.
- Troubleshoot, anticipate and correct problems associated with plant operations.
- Follow Operations Objectives to reach Platinum Crush LLC's performance objectives and overall goals.
- As a supervisor, must be reliable and able to communicate effectively.
- Read, understand and follow standard operating procedures for operation of plant and associated equipment.
- Responsible for creating and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as instructed.
- Responsible for completing training on SOPs as instructed.
- Ability to issue Confined Space Permits, Hot Work Permits, and Lockout Permits.
- Accurately maintain all documents associated with the position including daily logs, transfers sheets, PM's, permits, and any other documents needing maintained during shift.
- Communicate with management all compliance values outside regular limits.
- Communicate with the maintenance department to anticipate or fix problems in a timely manner, including writing work requests / work orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- AA, Bachelor's, or Technological degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years in a production role or related experience.
- Minimum one year in a leadership position.
- Ability to provide coaching and encouragement to team members.
- General knowledge of safety procedures.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially spreadsheets) or related software.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
