Responsibilities:What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Resident Engineer/Construction Corridor Manager/Team Leader to join our Southwest Chicago (Lisle). The ideal candidate will have the ability to apply intensive and diversified principles and practices to moderate to complex projects, exercising sound engineering judgment. The Senior Resident Engineer works independently making project specific decisions, solving engineering problems and methods, and coordinating all project work efforts. This position may require frequent travel, as well as all necessary effort and time required to meet established deadlines. Proven ability to work in a team environment and share experience and expertise with teammates is ideal.
General Duties & ResponsibilitiesWhat you bring to our firm:
Strong Communication Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or Boards of Directors.
Math Ability – Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills - Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and various engineering software systems depending on engineering discipline.
