Responsibilities
Primary Job Functions
* Responsible for continuing improvement and efficiency of department
* Ensuring safety within department while meeting goals
* Pull bins in order to ensure on-time delivery and availability of bins
* Lead packers by maintaining, deployment of personnel, and providing them with all pertinent information and materials they need
* Solve problems (product related) as quickly and efficiently as possible
* Maintain open communications with Department Manager
* Make skid tag labels for packing lines, pack bins when needed
* Maintain knowledge of QMS and ISO Standards
* Maintain a GUNG-HO attitude in support of the Berry Global and ensure that Safety is a priority
* Follow and encourage GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices)
* Train and mentor new hires and temporary employees
Supervisory Responsibilities:
* Be a Role Model - No exceptions from safety absolutes and plant rules; You are the face of Berry to everyone on your shift. What you say and do impacts everyone on your shift. Positively and Negatively
* If you feel a task that you have been asked to complete is unsafe, stop and request additional information
* Visible participation in pre shift meetings reiterating safety - importance to the entire organization; reiterate need for employees to participate in their own safety program
* Daily workplace behavioral observations across area of responsibility
Qualifications
* 2 to 5 years experience needed.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, speak and listen. The employee frequently is required to climb, balance, stoop, and kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
