Supervise all aspects of the Mareks Tissue Culture Lab.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Mareks production, batching and formulation. Observe roller bottles each morning. Control charts data input & interpretation. Maximize output.
- Oversee the Athens CEF production. Transfer CEFs in Oracle. Manage any new procedure or technology changes. Provide any information needed during Athens investigations.
- Master file review ensure all documents are compliant, complete and accurate.
- Audits (QA, HSE, USDA, internal) responsible for keeping labs in audit ready condition. This includes issuing work orders, following up with maintenance, looking for safety hazards, charts and logs completion, product made in compliance with USDA and QA, etc.
- Be an active leader in the continuing Lean Implementation within Production. Daily kanban audit & upkeep. Roll out the new SPDQC boards in all TC Labs and participate in morning meetings.
- Create performance goals for TC technicians. Provide timely feedback to Technicians. Review performances based on goals and Boehringer Ingelheim Values.
- Personnel development (coaching, discipline, tracking, certifications, etc). Monitor the training and progress of each new employee/temp.
- Cycle count & inventory reconciliation perform weekly cycle counts and daily inventory checks comparing physical vs Oracle inventories. Complete Oracle batch transactions.
- Scheduling - ensure each TC lab is properly staffed for its daily activities while also providing help for all other areas who depend on TC technicians for support.
- Actively participate in all Mareks investigations.
- Project participation
- Oversee training of all employees responsible for training team
- Performs other duties as assigned.
**May not own or have contact with other birds or poultry.**
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in science or related field and/or lesser degree with five (5) years of aseptic lab leadership experience, or five to seven (5-7) years of specific Tissue Culture Master Tech experience.
- Lean/Six Sigma Certified (Green belt or higher) preferred.
- In depth knowledge of all aspects of marek's Production.
- Ability to produce serial and direct team from start to finish.
- Ability to lead teams is necessary.
- Needs excellent communication skills (including technical writing).
- Team building skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills (sigmaXL).
- A strong mathematical background.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
- Candidates are NOT ALLOWED to have yard or house birds
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
