Position SummaryThe Packaging Team Operator is responsible for a variety of tasks in the packaging department, including operating packaging machinery, labeling, inspecting products, and ensuring proper documentation. This role requires rotation through all phases of the Packaging Team Operator position and requires adherence to operational standards for quality and efficiency.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperate the Form, Fill, and Seal (FFS) machine, hand-held scanner, label maker, and tape machine.Receive, inspect, sort, and pack products efficiently while adhering to quality standards.Visually inspect packing materials to ensure proper documentation accompanies the product.Clean and inspect FFS machines during changeovers to ensure all product is removed and accurate packing occurs.Perform skid changeovers and line clearance activities to maintain smooth operations.Verify that all paperwork is complete and accurate, including ensuring traceability of products.Assist with the training of new Operators on proper procedures and equipment use.Maintain 5S standards in the assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.Work EnvironmentThe role involves working with manufacturing equipment or being in close proximity to machinery. Employees may be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.The work environment can range from clean room settings with gowning requirements to production areas that are open, noisy, and contain moving equipment.Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, and repetitive motion involving hands, wrists, and upper body.Requires focused visual attention to inspect products and components.Travel is minimal (less than 5% of the time).QualificationsKnowledge & SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in the use of computers and related software.Adequate fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.Sound judgment in product disposition and decision-making.Minimum Qualifications, Education & ExperienceMust be at least 18 years of age.High School Diploma or GED required.Less than 1 year of experience, with a background in manufacturing preferred.Pay Details: $21.00 per hourBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
