Pleroma Media's online technology publications are dedicated to delivering cutting-edge news, insights, and trends in the tech world. We are seeking an Editor in Chief to lead our overall coverage and strategy for our technology sites, with a primary focus on our flagship site, Tech Times. This role will also involve guiding content across other sites, including iTechPost, Mobile & Apps, GamenGuide, Player.One, Science Times and Nature World News.
The Editor in Chief will play a crucial role in shaping the overall editorial direction of the publications. This editorial leader will be responsible for overseeing the creation and publication of high-quality technology-related articles, ensuring that they meet editorial standards and resonate with the target audience. Exceptional editing skills, strong knowledge of the tech industry, and keen eye for detail will be key to your success in this role.
Job Overview:
- Content Strategy: Collaborate with the editorial team to develop and execute content strategies that align with the Tech Times mission and goals. Stay updated on industry trends and identify potential areas for coverage and growth.
- Editorial Oversight: Edit and proofread articles for grammar, spelling, clarity, accuracy, and adherence to the publication's style guide. Ensure that all content is engaging, informative, and well-structured.
- Audience Development: Implement strategies to grow and engage with the publications' audiences, ensuring content reaches and resonates with target readers. Monitor analytics to track traffic performance and audience engagement, using data insights to refine content and reach audience growth targets.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular reviews of published articles to maintain the highest editorial standards. Provide feedback and guidance to writers to improve the quality of their work and ensure consistency across all content.
- Fact-Checking and Research: Conduct thorough research on technology topics to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the information presented in articles. Verify facts, statistics, and sources to uphold journalistic integrity.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with writers, reporters, and other members of the editorial team to brainstorm ideas, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment. Offer constructive feedback to help writers improve their skills.
- SEO Optimization: Work closely with the SEO team to ensure that articles are optimized for search engines and meet best practices for SEO. Monitor keyword performance and provide recommendations for improving article visibility.
- Trend Monitoring: Keep abreast of the latest technological advancements, industry news, and emerging trends. Identify opportunities for unique and engaging content that sets Techtimes.com apart from competitors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field. A strong academic background in technology is a plus.
- Proven experience as an editor in a large technology publication B2B and/or B2C.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an excellent command of the English language and grammar. Attention to detail is critical.
- Strong knowledge and interest in technology, including an understanding of emerging trends, gadgets, software, and other relevant topics.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and search engine optimization SEO best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to analyze information, identify errors or inconsistencies, and make necessary adjustments.
