BECOME A TECH WASH AGENT!Our Tech Wash Agent position requires the employee to perform an in-depth cleaning of specified areas of an aircraft. Scrub, scrape, detail, and wash the exterior and interior parts and components of the aircraft.WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK AS A TECH WASH AGENT
- Pre-checks are performed on all equipment/vehicles and loading of required chemicals for designated washes during that shift
- The ability to follow airline specific guidelines with tasks pertaining to the detailed cleaning process
- Attach or remove proper pitot tube and static port covers and document on aircraft wash record or airline designated forms
- Place the vacuum and water dams around the aircraft to collect all liquids that drip onto the ground and any drains that are covered to protect from contamination
- Place soap in mop buckets, apply to aircraft, starting from the bottom, working upwards with mopheads/pads attached to poles
- Wash exterior of aircraft to remove dirt, insect spots, grease, stains, oil streaking, and exhaust/carbon trails
- During and after the rinse, the contaminated water is squeezed to the vacuum system for removal, be sure to not leave any standing water/soap/chemical in the shadow of aircraft
- A power washer will be used to rinse the soap and dirt from the aircraft while working from the ground or using a ladder
- Polish metallic surfaces, clean/scrape seat tracks, and wipe down the interior structure of aircraft
- Complete a FOD walk to verify that the work area is clean of equipment/chemicals and debris free
- Inspect and evaluate the quality of work and practice safe work methods
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE): raingear, rubber boots, safety glasses, face shield, rubber gloves, Tyvek suit, and respirator
- May be assigned other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents
- Ability to use electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
