Job Title: Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager Location: New York, NY Client: District Partners has partnered with a publicly traded SaaS company Overview: District Partners is seeking an experienced Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager to join a rapidly growing, publicly traded SaaS company. Reporting to the VP of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, this role is pivotal in overseeing the companys financial reporting and ensuring compliance with technical accounting standards. You'll be instrumental in driving the companys SEC filings while also contributing to the technical evaluation of contracts and deals, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance with GAAP. In addition to traditional financial reporting duties, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, legal, and sales, to assess the technical aspects of SaaS contracts, customer arrangements, and revenue recognition. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial strategy of a dynamic SaaS company, where complex transactions and growth initiatives are common. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation, coordination, and oversight of the companys quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K). Ensure accuracy in consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, equity, and related disclosures). Collaborate on Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) and fluctuation analysis for reporting. Technical Accounting Leadership: Research and prepare technical accounting memos for new accounting standards and complex transactions. Serve as the go-to resource for technical accounting questions related to SaaS contracts, revenue recognition, and ASC 606. Ensure compliance with GAAP, and monitor the impact of changes in accounting standards on the company's financial reporting. Contract and Deal Support: Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate contracts, customer agreements, and other transactions from a technical accounting perspective. Manage the timing and accuracy of revenue recognition, ensuring it aligns with SaaS industry practices and ASC 606. Assess the financial treatment for multi-year deals, licensing agreements, and software implementations. Earnings Releases Coordination: Work closely with management and legal teams to ensure accurate and timely earnings releases. Support the preparation and review of financial press releases and investor communications. Process Improvement and Compliance: Design, implement, and enhance accounting processes for non-routine transactions, ensuring efficient workflows and robust internal controls. Drive process improvements related to financial reporting and technical accounting to support scalability. Support audit requirements and ensure compliance with external and internal controls. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required. 5 years of progressive experience in technical accounting and financial reporting, preferably within a publicly traded company or Big 4. Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting for SaaS businesses. Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and accounting for complex transactions. Compensation Target: $140,000 - $160,000 Base
