POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates an understanding of all procedures performed, a thorough understanding of all work processes and safety issues in a specific assigned area, and possesses excellent customer service initiatives. Recognizes a patient's physical limitations and provides appropriate support to assure the patient's safety. Helps to expedite patient's procedures by assisting the ultrasound technologist. Promotes the University Health Systems Guest Relations Program. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Enrollment in an ultrasound technologist program with at least one semester of clinical coursework completed OR completion of a recognized nursing attendant/aide program OR six (6) months' experience as a nursing attendant, patient transporter, or other related healthcare experience may be a substitute OR graduate of an ultrasound technology program. Experience in an ultrasound working environment is preferred, with knowledge of safety issues. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required.
