Job Description:

CAMI NYC was founded in 2013 after identifying a need in the market space for garments that are versatile, feminine and effortless. CAMI is inclusive to every woman, any event, anywhere. We are looking for a Technical Designer Manager to join our growing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborative team member assisting in the design, technical design, and product development

Develop and edit tech packs, documenting fit comments, specs. and PP/TOP comments

Active in all communication and follow-up related to all styles every season

Constant communication with international factories

Passionate about development process to evolve future collections

Review all vendor-submitted fit samples (proto / SMS / PP) regarding construction and fit and match back to initial tech pack

Active in all steps for Fittings- Prepare fittings- Accurately spec garments, review workmanship and construction against previous fit comments, steam samples as needed. Take detailed fit notes

Commutate all fit corrections including detailed construction changes or pattern changes in tech pack for all styles

Communicate daily with over sea's factories on all fit changes and any change that may affect delivery as well as answering any of their questions

Communicate internal fittings based on sample flow, booking fit model

Track and ship samples; Receive and log all incoming/ outgoing samples, make shipping labels and coordinate courier pickups

Inspect and document TOP samples to match PP approvals

Maintain development and production timeline

Work closely with production and design team to ensure quality garments and timely production; identify potential fit / construction issues and work with internal teams to resolve before production delays occur

EXPERIENCE:

Technical Degree in patternmaking or/ and Technical design, preferred

At least 4+ years of experience in technical design/ patternmaking, required.

Having knowledge on knitwear/outerwear is a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Excellent time management and self-motivation

Strong planning and highly organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail

Understanding of pattern making, draping, garment construction, grading, and factory production, required

Ability to follow direction accurately and in a timely manner

Detail oriented and ability to multi-task competing priorities to meet deadline

Eager to learn and grow in Technical Design Department

Resourceful problem solver who has sense of urgency

Ability to work in a fast paced & small team environment
