Windows and VMware Administrator - L2.5
Description: The Senior Windows and VMware Administrator is responsible for the design, installation, configuration, and implementation of the Windows infrastructure which includes servers, and workstations.
The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated enterprise level experience in maintaining physical and virtual servers and hosts. The duties include monitoring, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a Windows environment as well as mentoring Mid-level and Junior Administrators. The candidate should be able to be a leading contributor on large projects, be a self-starter, and able to work operate in a collaborative environment.
Detailed Responsibilities/Duties:
Daily administration of Windows systems running currently supported Windows MS Server (2022,2019,2016,2012 and 2008)
Design, manage Windows core services.
VMware vSphere 6.7 , servers and tools management.
vRealize 7.5 and SRM 6.5 management and troubleshooting skills.
Performance tuning, and system assessments.
Vulnerability management
Patch management activities using SCCM.
Building server 'Gold' images to conform to customer standards, to include hardening, and security compliance.
Perform enterprise level system upgrades of operating systems, applications, and other tools, including evaluation and installation of new products, and MS and other application patches.
Develop mid-level engineers to perform more advanced system administration and best practices.
Manage Service Level Agreements, documentation, and policy/procedure compliance for IT systems related to virtualized, and Windows environments.
Create and manage scripts to perform system tasks with PowerShell experience a plus.
Participate in after-hours requests that respond to business emergencies (on-call rotation)
Resolve escalated issues from the IT Service Desk and Tier III administrators
Proactively monitor servers to anticipate and mitigate problems.
Required Experience/Skills/Attributes
o Able to create and manage solutions at enterprise level using Scripting and other tools.
o Able to manage multiple projects and or efforts.
o Solid knowledge and ability to maintain other Windows core services.
o Ability to learn new products and technologies.
o Ability to monitor and respond to system issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
o Experience working in a Mid-size to Large environment
o Ability to manage own projects and solutions on time.
o Ability to create and manage work instructions, system and project documentation
o Excellent communication skills to explain technical information and requirements effectively to others both orally and written.

VMware:
Installation & Administration of VMware 6.5 and above
Expertise knowledge in vCenter deployments and upgrades
Expertise in advanced features of ESXi 6/7, Migrations, HA, DRS, SDRS and VUM
Extensive experience in working with vMotion and storage vMotion technologies
Experience in P2V, V2V migration using VMware vCenter converter/ Plate spin and creating host and client VM templates and cloning
Expertise knowledge in installing and configuring Site Recovery Manager
Experienc e working with all VMware technologies like vMotion, Storage vMotion, High Availability (HA), Fault Tolerance (FT), DRS and Storage DRS
Patch management and upgrades using VMware update manager
Hands on experience working with configuration and management of VMware vSphere StandardSwitch & distributed Switch
Experience in VMware networking concepts like creation of vSwitches, vDS, different types of port groups, NIC teaming and VLAN
Experienced in Configuring FC, SAN, VMFS, iSCSI SAN and NAS Storage with Different Vendors like EMC, NetApp
Good understanding of windows and VMware server automation using scripting language PowerShell, and Power CLI
Experience on vRA/vROPS and SRM.
Salary Range- $120,000-$135,000 a year
