Job Description:

National Airlines, based in Orlando, FL, operates passenger charter service as well as customized military and commercial air cargo carriages worldwide. National Airlines specializes in over-sized, time sensitive, and special handling requirements, utilizing 757-200,747-400 and A-330 aircraft to accomplish its missions.

Job Title: Technical Operations Training Supervisor

Location: Orlando, FL

Department: Quality Control

Reports To: Manager of Quality Control & Technical Operations Training

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: The Technical Operations Training Supervisor works with the Technical Training Instructors to actively promote a positive attitude towards safety and compliance. They ensure that all training curriculum, materials, and processes comply with the Federal Regulations. The Technical Operations Training Supervisor reports to the Manager of QC & Technical Operations Training.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates in the Company's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the responsibilities detailed in the Safety Management System Manual
  • Actively promotes a positive attitude toward safety and compliance within National Airlines as evidenced by National Airlines' ability to exceed minimum CFR requirements
  • Develops and supervises all Tech Ops Training processes
  • Delegates and assigns work and projects to instructors effectively
  • Evaluates the performance of the Technical Training Instructors and provides feedback or coaching when needed
  • Provides input for Technical Operations Training Course development in accordance with course outlines in the National Airlines Training program
  • Develops training Aids and other Course Materials enhancing the training modules in the National Airlines Training Program
  • Provides input for developing, maintaining and updating the Technical Operations Training Learning Management System (LMS) Courseware and electronic documentation of initial and recurrent training requirements
  • Actively involves in qualifying outsourced training vendors to meet National Airlines and FAA acceptance requirements
  • Ensures National Airlines maintains Regulatory Compliance with the Applicable Federal Regulations
  • Presents training data and compliance reports for Technical Operations leadership
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Must hold a Mechanic certificate with both airframe and power plant ratings, and have held these ratings for at least 5 years
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Must possess a working knowledge and understanding of Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFRs), National Airlines approved/accepted, as applicable, manuals and OpSpecs
  • Working knowledge of E-Learning applications to include Test generation and trend analysis tools to measure training effectiveness
  • 5 years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes with an air carrier or certificated repair station preferred
  • Experience in computerized word processing and spreadsheet development, PowerPoint, Media and graphics application required
  • Previous trainer experience is preferred
  • Previous Supervisory/Management experience is preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Must complete initial SMS Training and recurrent SMS Training. Specific requirements are detailed in the Safety Management System Manual

High level of proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications

Certificates/Licenses:

FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings

Travel Requirements:

  • Valid Passport without restrictions for international travel in/out of the United States
  • May travel up to 30%
