We fully support work flexibility including remote and hybrid work arrangements.Role location: US (Remote), Boston preferredScope:At Vantage, the Technical Portfolio Analyst will help us understand the performance of our current partnership capital (re/insurance-linked securities) product offering through data analytics, reporting and visualization. Working closely with senior members of the Reinsurance and Partnership Capital teams to more effectively utilize data to help make decisions impacting our business. Involved in building out a foundation of data, reports and analytical tools to drive business results.The base salary expectation for this role is between $75,000 and $95,000. Actual base salary for the selected candidate may be higher commensurate with candidate experience; title and expectations will be similarly dependent on candidate experience. - Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, issues, and provide actionable insights across multiple portfolios and business lines.
- Assist with database schema design, internal/external stakeholder portfolio reporting and data application development.
- Perform data discovery, profiling, and root cause analysis on large data assets.
- Build Data mapping tables between source and target systems.
- Perform data reconciliation and quality assurance testing.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve operational efficiency of key systems and reporting databases.
- Create & automate repeatable data solutions, such as reports or visualizations, using SQL, PowerBI, Excel, Python and other tools.
- Prepare and present reports, visualizations, and dashboards to stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of data analytics tools and techniques to enhance team performance.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as required to support strategic initiatives and projects.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in portfolio management.Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience using catastrophe modeling applications and modeling output (Verisk, RMS, etc.).
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the reinsurance or financial services industry.
- Strong proficiency using SQL, Python, R, Streamlit and HTML.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Experience with geospatial analytics and tools (such as ArcGIS, PostGIS) strongly preferred.
- Experience working with different types of datasets (e.g., unstructured, semi-structured, with missing information).
- Experience developing stakeholder reporting and portfolio management interface dashboards.
- Ability to think critically and creatively in a dynamic environment, while picking up new tools and domain knowledge along the way.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Understanding of financial markets and associated industry best practices strongly preferred.Vantage Values:
