With a dedicated team of 60 onsite employees, MDDS plays a crucial role in supporting the University of California's mission of teaching, research, and public service by delivering high-quality, cost-effective services.
MDDS is part of Business & Finance Solutions (BFS), a division of UCLA under the Office of the Vice Chancellor & Chief Financial Officer, providing innovative campus-wide solutions to complex financial and business matters.
Position SummaryThe Technical Project Manager role offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of MDDS business units' operations, immediately make a significant impact across UCLA departments involved in education, healthcare, and research, and prepare for future advancement opportunities within MDDS. Under the general supervision and in collaboration with the Director of MDDS, the Technical Project Manager applies technical project management concepts, frameworks, and methods to resolve a variety of technical project management issues.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in successfully managing technical projects of moderate scope from initiation to completion to ensure that all aspects of the project are delivered on time and within budget. The Technical Project Manager plays a critical role in coordinating cross-functional teams, mitigating risks, analyzing data, creating successful workflows, and ensuring the overall success of I.T. projects for multiple work units. Responsibilities include Project Planning and Initiation; Project Execution and Monitoring; Communication and Stakeholder Management; and Quality Assurance.
Typical projects include New Equipment Acquisition and Implementation; Technology Service Enhancements; System Migrations; Software Upgrades and/or Acquisition including implementation and training.
Salary & Compensation*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications.
