Calian solutions impact the world; from the satellites in space that connect us to the farms that feed us, from the medical professionals who care for us to the governments, schools, and companies that make the world better every day.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Project Manager who is responsible for working with the engineering lead for the planning, scheduling, executing, and delivering of client-facing projects that span various disciplines within Calian's practice areas. This may include managing internal and external project teams, as well as any external vendors that may be involved.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate multiple projects (in various phases) simultaneouslyDefine and organize projects and establishing project scope and timelineEngage the appropriate departments to establish the project teamEnsure team members understand their assigned action items and meet the due datesKeep team resources focused on planning and executing the projectProvide assistance and support to project team membersFacilitate project execution and ensuring timelines are metWork with Sales to evaluate the effect of changes to scope or timeline on project costs and revenueMaintain the project folder in a public network location with appropriate project management documents and review it on a regular basisProvide updates to client, team members, sales personnel, and management on project statusOwn and maintain the project status spreadsheet for all projectsHold project kickoff, status and close out calls for all assigned projectsEnsure effective communication and transfer of information between the project team and clientCollaborate with Finance to ensure proper invoicing at the appropriate project milestonesKeep the project team and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relationsPerform other duties as required and/or assignedEmployee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience3-5+ years of in-depth experience coordinating projectsExperience working directly with technical engineers and as well as non-technical end usersExperience in coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring that project goals are metAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong leadership skills with the ability to support and empathize with team membersStrong organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detailSelf-motivated with strong communication skills (oral and written)Ability to assess risks and make decisions while working under pressure and time constraintsKnowledge of Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new softwareCritical thinking and project management skills requiredExcellent writing, editing skills and command of grammar with ability to edit text for consistent styleMust be eligible to work for any U.S. employer without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.EEO StatementCalian Corp. is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation or any other characteristic protected by law.Job Title: Technical Project ManagerDate: October 25, 2024Location: Houston, TXRemote: YesBusiness Unit: IT & Cyber SolutionsDepartment: EngineeringJob Type: Full-time#J-18808-Ljbffr
