Overview:

The Indiana Department of Health (IN-IDOH) seeks a highly skilled Technical IT Project Manager to lead and manage high-complexity IT projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in delivering innovative IT solutions, particularly in healthcare and cloud environments. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high-complexity IT projects within the health department.
  • Oversee the complete project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including solution architects, cloud architects, and DevOps engineers.
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget while managing risks, issues, and changes.
  • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Coordinate with the helpdesk team to ensure seamless project implementation and ongoing support.
  • Implement and manage IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and projects.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and department standards.
  • Lead and provide oversight to a team of approximately 12 individuals.
  • Manage large, budget-intensive projects and coordinate with internal and external partners.
  • Maintain alignment with PMO guidelines and processes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, executives, and other audiences through regular updates and reports.

Qualifications:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of proven experience managing high-complexity projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Experience with dashboard tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields with significant IT experience.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Highly Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in Azure, AWS, MuleSoft, DevOps, and ITSM.
  • 5+ years of experience working with solution architects and cloud architects.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and operational projects.
  • Experience managing healthcare-related IT projects.
  • Experience working with helpdesk systems and managing helpdesk teams.
