Job DescriptionTechnical Sales Engineer A local, top-performing, and fast-paced manufacturer with a family-like atmosphere is looking for a motivated and technically proficient Sales Engineer to join a dynamic sales team. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving company growth and success by leveraging engineering expertise to promote and sell specialized products and services to potential and existing customers. Sales Engineer Responsibilities:
- Conduct presentations and demonstrations of products and services to prospective clients, showcasing their features, benefits, and applications.
- Articulate technical information in a clear and concise manner to appeal to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Effectively demonstrate technical features of manufacturing processes to prospective clients.
- Drive sales by building and maintaining strong business relationships while ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Travel to customer sites and provide personalized service and support. Ability to travel 25-50%, majority regional travel.
- Work closely with potential customers to understand their specific requirements, challenges, and pain points related to chemical or mechanical engineering applications. Identify opportunities where our products and solutions can meet their needs and provide value.
- Utilize your engineering expertise to analyze and recommend appropriate solutions for customers, considering factors such as technical specifications, compatibility, and feasibility. Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams as necessary to customize offerings for specific customer requirements.
- Prepare detailed and tailored proposals based on customer needs, outlining the technical aspects of the solution, pricing, delivery timelines, and terms of the agreement.
- Collaborate with the sales team throughout the sales cycle, providing technical guidance and support during customer interactions. Address any technical inquiries, concerns, or objections raised by potential customers.
- Consistently meet and exceed established sales goals, track progress, and adjust strategies to maximize success.
- Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Understand sales and manufacturing processes and risks, anticipating challenges and formulating mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, engineering professionals, and other key stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, including customer interactions, proposals, and sales progress. Provide regular reports to the sales management team.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote our products and network with potential customers and partners.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Sales Engineer Required Qualifications:
- Technical Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or a related field.
- 5-7 years of progressive project engineering and sales experience. Previous experience in customer-facing technical sales or engineering roles.
- Proven experience in technical sales or a similar customer-facing role. Ability to effectively communicate and convey technical information to a diverse audience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ability to travel 25-50%, majority regional travel.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets, drive revenue growth, and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
- Knowledge of polymer products, manufacturing and mold fabrication processes is helpful.
