We have a brand-new position available to hire for a Technical Sales, Culinary Innovation expert to join our flavor team!This role willsupport pipeline growth and accelerate time to first dollar by driving chef to chef, technical to technical collaboration. Provide focused customer facing technical expert (knowledgeable of flavor, seasoning applications and ingredients) to support business growth via the following channels: Established tier 1-3 accounts; targeted growth/prospect accounts. Reduce challenges in penetrating targeted accounts through direct technical to technical relationship building at focused accounts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Customer:
  • Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities in the culinary segments, through close collaboration with category, technical, and account management teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with targeted & identified customers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Provide the chef's perspective through culinary insights and guidance throughout the development process to ensure products meet market demands.
  • Act as a technical bridge between the customer, account manager, and internal teams (be regarded as part of the customer's team).
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers and industry stakeholders.
  • Craft and communicate engaging culinary narratives that resonate with clients and consumers alike - utilize storytelling to convey the origin, inspiration, and unique value of MANE's products.
Internal:
  • Collaborate with the category, account management, and marketing teams to develop and implement effective strategies to maintain and grow accounts in specified areas.
  • Work closely with the R&D team to support development of product demonstration concepts in response to reactive briefs and proactive market strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze pipeline data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide technical support to Category Leadership, Account Managers, and Marketing.
Market:
  • Attend industry conferences and events to stay up to date on industry trends and developments.
  • Work closely with marketing to develop compelling content that highlights our ingredients and their applications.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing materials.
  • Work with global MANE chef counterparts and engage a culinary collective of ideas and inspiration from MANE headquarters and affiliates.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory requirements.

  • Other duties in support of company objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or culinary degree required with a preference in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or related technical discipline. 5-10 years of industry experience
  • Sales acumen and experience working with marketing teams to develop content that highlights culinary expertise and product benefits.
  • Knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and sensory evaluation techniques
  • Experience in food preparation and /or flavor research and development
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONSTravel on average: 30-35%
  • With customers: 5-7 days /month
  • At MANE Development Center (without customers): 2-3 days/month (likely heavier in first 6 months)

  • Possess technical skills and knowledge of ingredients with the ability to manage multiple lines of projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative - Willingness to share and learn from experiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated, forward-thinking problem solver
  • Computer experience, with emphasis on Microsoft Office and formulation software. SAP experience a plus.
  • Understanding of safe laboratory practices & follow protocol independently.
