Job SummaryImplements, develops processes, tools, and applications to enhance user experience, and improve efficiency and productivity with enterprise applications and systems. Provides direct technical assistance for university end-users and departments, supporting approximately 400 full-time users (faculty, staff), about 1300 BYUH Student workers and 1500 Windows and Apple-based systems.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Manage, train, and mentor student and part-time employees (agents, supervisors, specialists, and project managers)
- Act as an IT technical analyst for departments and users
- Evaluate and analyze technology products and software and provide technical expertise to meet the client's business objectives.
- Maintains CES-ITI IT asset inventory for the University, including but not limited to software licenses, computer hardware such as desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, phones, projectors, and other technology equipment using Team Dynamix Asset Management.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure database accuracy and update inventory records accordingly.
- Manage, maintain, and configure system servers such as (Microsoft Endpoint. Configuration Manager, Windows Application and Equipment Management., JAMF Pro, Microsoft Key Management Server, Application Licensing Server (SPSS, Maple, Mathematic, Deepfreeze), Adobe Licensing Server, - Pharos Print Management).
- Design, implement and resolve client/server base processes and application issues according to established policies and procedures.
- Partner with stakeholders of departments recommending technical solutions that meet client's business objectives based on university policies, network restrictions and budget constraints.
Additional Responsibilities- Assist with onboarding new full-time employees, approve timesheets, and provide tier 3 level support to the campus.
- Collaborate with 3rd party vendors on behalf of department subject matter experts to implement best business practices and approve purchases for required departmental hardware/software.
- Gather requirements and request budgets as needed for emergent and planned projects. Uses Risk Analysis to process software and hardware requests and is responsible for working with department faculty and deans to proactively road map their software and technological needs.
- Manages and assign users and department access and license accounts using Microsoft Active Directory, Office 365, Azure Admin and Adobe Administration
- Process data destruction, surplus, and disposal of technology devices and approved hardware and software purchases.
- Approve IT requests approval for software and technology equipment based on discussions with users and departments.
- Work closely with ITI and CES Network Committee to support user network connectivity and access to required applications, identifying issues with cables, ports, access points, routers, switches, DNS/DHCP, and network protocols.
- Manages and supports voice and video communications for the University, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Manages screencasting devices for clients for classroom presentations and business purposes.
- Manage and deploy desktop IP Phones, using Cisco UCCM to configure user information and voicemail.
- Work closely with the IT Security Coordinator to assist, manage, and provide Information Technology Security support, including installing and upgrading security software and mitigating and remediating security vulnerabilities on computer systems using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and CrowdStrike.
- Responsible for evaluating, designing, consulting, implementing, testing, and performing problem isolation and resolution of on-campus system equipment.
- Provide onsite and remote technical assistance for hardware technology and software issues, responding within identified timelines to minimize downtime and maximize user productivity.
- Responds to emergency after-hours support during workdays and weekends, especially for executive leadership support in the university, such as the President's Council and any vulnerability issues on computer technology.
- Maintain a work log of IT tickets and maintenance tasks in Team Dynamix. Managing and overseeing an online system for tracking support tickets for professionals on the team
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Specifications- BS degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred Certification: CompTIA A+ or/and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or other IT industry-recognized vendor certifications such as Microsoft, Apple, CompTIA, Dell Certifications, Project Management.

Approximate starting salary: $61,000 - $69,000. The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.As an educational institution affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, BYU-Hawaii prefers to hire qualified members of the Church in good standing, as authorized under 41 C.F.R. § 60-1.5 (a)(6).
