Position Summary In this role, you will manage a team responsible for assembling data, identifying problems, developing recommendations to support the Supply Chain team, Operations management, and New Product Development. This position reports to Executive VP of Operations. According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

What You'll Be Doing
- Locating and developing suppliers of goods and services that offer a strategic partnership to the company
- Developing and oversees a communication and information flow structure with suppliers which allow efficient production of quality product and service
- Coordinating New Product development sourcing projects and resourcing projects to meet the needs of the company
- Driving the development of new suppliers by looking at availability, quality, and cost of materials and services
- Developing and utilizing an in-depth procurement understanding of assigned commodities (i.e., pricing, trends, world markets, the potential supply base and their capabilities, and source materials from competitive suppliers who best fulfill Banner Engineering Corp. requirements)
- Negotiating pricing, terms and conditions, lead-times, and formulating contracts/agreements with suppliers to minimize total cost, improve quality, and assure on-time delivery
- Participating and/or manages commodity teams with the specific purpose of improving internal communications, understanding, and promoting consensus management and decision making
- Working in unison with design engineering in developing new products via raw materials, design options, and/or procurement opportunities which would lower product costs and/or enhance the quality and value of Banner products, placing orders for prototype parts
- Working knowledge of Plastic Injection Molding, Die Casting, Aluminum and Plastic Extrusion, Sheet Metal Stamping, MIM, Machining, Metal & Plastic Finishing Processes
- Developing the team by conducting performance and salary reviews, coaching, performing employee relations tasks, and managing the team's workload
- Acting as the SME within the team while supervising sourcing activities in close collaboration and alignment with business operations

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering
- 5 - 7 years direct purchasing/buying/sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, domestically and internationally
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical components
- Good working knowledge of industrial markets, manufacturing processes, and technical aspects of industrial commodities
- Excellent negotiation skills that break down barriers between parties resulting in agreements of mutual acceptance
- Basic understanding of quality assurance principals
- Well organized and disciplined with high work standards
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and suppliers, both domestic and international
- Strong ability to perform maturely under stress and/or opposition
- Intermediate-to-advanced level of Excel and ability to utilize all Microsoft Office products
Preferred
- Professional certification (CPIM/CPP or CPPM)
