Our work includes systems engineering and integration, test planning and execution, cost estimating and analysis, developing approaches and concepts to meet emerging, high priority National Defense needs, and assessing and developing cutting-edge computer-based solutions, advanced technologies and progressive capabilities to meet those needs.The S&I Division comprises the Intelligence Programs Group (IPG), the Space Systems Group (SSG), and the Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), which collectively provide outstanding support to help their customers achieve our nation's most critical objectives and goals designed to protect the safety and livelihoods of all U.S. Citizens, military forces at home and abroad. SPA has an immediate need for a number of highly qualified Mid-Level (Journeyman) Technical Space Operations Engineers to support our new U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command Hemisphere contract in the Colorado Springs, CO, El Segundo, CA, and Cape Canaveral AFB (CCAFB), FL areas.Travel is not anticipated but would occur less than five percent of the time on an occasional and irregular basis and be limited to domestic locations only.
ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking multiple Mid-Level (Journeyman) Technical Space Operations Engineer candidates for the following positions at the associated locations
- Director's Action Group (DAG) Specialists located in the El Segundo, CA area with TS/SCI clearance/access levels and with Active Secret clearances
- Launch Site Support Engineers located in the CCAFB, FL area
- Launch Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) Engineers located in the CCAFB, FL area
- Space Control Satellite Engineers located in the Colorado Springs, CO area
- Principal Space Ground-Based Assets Engineers located in the Colorado Springs, CO area
- Space Systems Engineers located in the El Segundo, CA area.
The Technical Space Operations Engineers shall have:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and execute various internal projects; to include answering workflow taskers and summarizing large data sets
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple geographically-separated team members
- Expertise in classified weapon system launch planning, processing, and execution
- Deep knowledge in the processes and products required to successfully design and test a space system
- Deep knowledge in classified space control systems engineering processes and procedures, including requirements development, configuration control, and supporting a Deficiency Review (DR) board disposition and management process
- Demonstrated ability to organize and conduct ACAT-like technical design reviews and audits
- Experience with and knowledge on satellite command and control and telemetry systems
- Deep knowledge in multiple space operations and space control-related fields, including orbitology, navigation, sensor employment, communications, optimization, and command and control
- Demonstrated ability to develop, update, and coordinate ACAT-like program documentation (e.g. Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Risk Management Plan (RMP), Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Technical Requirements Traceability Matrix (TRMT), and Integrated Program Baseline (IPB)).
QualificationsRequired:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Active TS/SCI clearance or TS/SCI Eligible status; Active Secret clearance for the DAG Specialist positions
- Earned Bachelors degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or other related STEM degree program
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in space system operations
- Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle
Desired:
- Specific work experience in the design, development, and operation of space-based systems
- Completed training modules or completed coursework in related space operations or in relevant STEM technical areas
- Familiarity with U.S. Air Force and USSF acquisition policies, protocols, practices, procedures, and processes
- Certifications such as PMP or CSEP/ESEP and with the Task Management Tool (TMT) application
- Familiarity with space operations tools and techniques, such as MATLAB, Simulink, Cameo Systems Modeler, or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
