LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES - 41 O'Connor Road, Fairport NY 14450; Campus Technology
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month Position, Full Time
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
SALARY RANGE: $26.00 - $32.50 per hour
* Actual salary is dependent upon Education, experience and contract.
DUTIES:
1. Provide technical guidance and assistance to other staff in resolving technology issues and concerns;
2. Coordinate initial installation of new software packages and/or web-based products;
3. Demonstrate the use of new technology and systems to employees;
4. Cybersecurity investigations and use of existing resources to address concerns;
5. Support, manage, and develop within existing systems (e.g. Filebound, ClassLink, Canva, Incident IQ, SQL, Access, Excel, etc.).
6. Develop utilizing Microsoft resources such as Power Bi, Power Automate, PowerShell, Graph, Purview, etc.;
7. Investigate and evaluate new commercial software systems available in existing market to meet district needs;
8. Assist operations Helpdesk staff in resolving daily problems of users by providing direct assistance to users.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Civil Service eligibility as a Technical Specialist: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus either:
(A)Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's degree, plus one (1) year of full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in all of the following: evaluating, recommending, installing AND utilizing commercial software packages, networking products, and common hardware devices; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered two (2) year college or university with an Associate's degree, plus three (3) years experience as described in (A) above; OR,
(C ) Five (5) years experience as described in (A) above; OR,
(D )Any equivalent combination of training and experience as described by the limits of (A), (B), and (C ),
2.Thorough knowledge of existing computer hardware, software, and networking product technology
3. Ability to detect and resolve technical problems
4. Ability to conduct training seminars and demonstrate computer systems in a manner that is understandable to a variety of people
5. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and work as a team member
6. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate several different activities
7. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships; tact; good judgment and initiative
8. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
