Summary/Objective:The Assistant Technician for Leak Repair is responsible for safely detecting, locating, evaluating and repairing leaks onsite at client work locations. Interacting with various customers to increase company presence in an assigned geographic area, as well as supervising and training new technicians or assistant technicians. The Assistant Technician is responsible for promoting the safety, quality, and integrity culture at Colt.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices alerting others regarding potential hazards both pertaining to and not pertaining to your scope of workPerforms all duties as assigned and adheres to Colts Core ValuesAssists in assesses leaking components and reports on findings to operations, engineering, and customer representativesAssists in leak repair operations that may include any of the following techniques and tasks:Drill and tap of componentsWire wrap and bandingUse measuring tools such as calipers, tape measure, to obtain complex design criteriaVarious Clamp and enclosure installationMeasuring Complex geometries of componentsMaintain on call status with ability to respond to customers rapidly and travel immediately to address customers emergency on site.Assist in inspecting leak repair device provided by manufacturing as part of quality control prior to installationIdentifies the necessity for the use of proper safety equipment, in coordination with the plant, and Colts safety matrix in order to perform all projects as safely as possible.Assists with documentation and administrative procedures as required from a job to job basisCommunicates and collaborate with, field personnel, client representatives and management in order to obtain successful completions of projectsMaintains awareness of company products and services available to customerBe willing to assist with sales functions throughout assigned territoryWillingness to take direction from supervisory and maintain good attendanceAdhere to quality procedures and demonstrate a strong safety cultureSkills/Knowledge/Abilities:High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or Trade school or related education preferredEntry level position but must have mechanical aptitude and skillsSome experience with on-line leak repair prefferedMust be able to pass routine and random drug screeningAbility to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short noticeMust be able to understand, speak, and write EnglishAbility to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlinesKnowledge of plant maintenance and repair work preferredHave obtained or has the ability to obtain OSHA 10 And OSHA 30 certification.Work ConditionsPosition is based out of a branch or site location with a geographic responsibilityField duties require indoor and outdoor work in a plant or industrial atmosphereInteraction with other crew employees, as well as supervisors and customer personnelWorking around production machinery with extreme heat, and noise levelsMay be required to work in or near extreme hot or cold environments.Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection on a per job basisMay be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changesMay be required to travel out of town on a periodic basisPhysical and Mental RequirementsAbility to lift and carry 75 poundsMust be able to walk and climb throughout industrial areas including steps and laddersAbility to Communicate with customers in high stress environments,Ability to work on elevated or hard to reach surfaces and areas in a variety of locations throughout industrial facilities.Must be able to manage time and schedule on a weekly basis and be able to travel when necessary to offsite locationsAbility to maintain focus and multitask effectively on a variety of Job scopes for different locationsExcellent communication skills, must be able to follow Standard Operating Procedures, evaluate each individual job scope, and mitigate all safety hazards with proper safety precautions and personal protective equipment.Colt is an equal opportunity employer and considers candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.Colt is a dynamic organization.
