MILITARY VETERANS

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will regularly diagnose and, with the aid of on-site technicians, remotely remedy equipment performance issues and failures to bring equipment back into specification. You will do this under the direction of the Product Support / Service Management. You will also work cross-functionally within the company to assist with problem recognition and resolution, product improvements, technical documentation, and process improvements. In this role you will need to show you have the technical ability to learn about all of the machinery and equipment this company uses, becoming the technical expert who can assist their customers in keeping their industrial heaters, blowers, and other electrical, mechanical and other equipment up and running to continue producing asphalt and cement. You will learn to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues remotely, leveraging reference materials, software applications, and tools to promote maximum uptime for the customer. On a day-to-day basis, you will be fielding calls all day that could range from simple issues that take just a few minutes to correct, to larger, more complex issues that can take hours.They will teach eager learners how to do this in a few ways. One avenue of training will be that during their slower season in January and February you will have classroom training and work on simulators, to learn about their equipment and how to troubleshoot it. The other avenue of training will be in the field, mostly during their busier season, March - August/September where you will go out to job sites and troubleshoot equipment their with a seasoned technician.While they are hiring someone for a Monday - Friday in-house, 7 or 8am to around 5pm position, during training, you will travel to sites for several weeks (home most weekends) and then be home for some time, taking some time off as well as working out of the office in Chattanooga. Once you are trained and up to speed, travel will be at a minimum but could still happen from time to time, depending on the needs of the customers, and learning about new equipment.There is an on-call rotation for weekends where you answer calls from home, resolving customer issues remotely.Base salary, $60 - $70K, hourly role with some overtime, each week when in the office and much more on the road. They offer a strong, full benefits package, and $45 per diem when on the road.Once trained and up to speed, this position is a day shift, mostly in house role.
