In the Technical Writer role, you will manage and develop written materials/deliverables for Managed Care Department (MCD) projects, providing general research and analytical support to MCD and writing proposals on an as-needed basis.The technical writer is a key member of the MCD interdisciplinary project teams responsible for producing varied project reports, such as annual technical reports, focused study/performance improvement project proposals and reports, and developing and maintaining project tools and templates.This position is office based with the potential for hybrid work. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Write/adapt/edit reports and other contract deliverables targeted toward various clients and customers.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, management and organization of boilerplate material.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and conferences including materials, registration, speakers, handouts, etc. and work onsite to support these events. Draft flyers and conference announcements.
- Serve as department liaison to Proposal Services, including coordinating content provided by department staff and creating new content as needed.
- Interface with subject matter experts, internally and externally, to develop report and proposal content.
- Manage administrative staff during report/proposal production.
- Conduct quality control audits including accuracy of data transferred to tables.
- Review/edit department reports and other written documents for style, consistency and clarity prior to submitting work products to customers.
- Prepare spreadsheets, charts, tables, slides and other materials for department staff preparing presentations and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Superior writing, editing and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to research and write about complex health care topics in a way that is understandable to both technical and lay audiences.
- Strong time management skills with the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel. Experience in using publishing/graphic software is a plus.
- Knowledge of the healthcare delivery system preferred.
- Ability to succeed in a work environment characterized by changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Ability to understand the department's services, and to apply this knowledge to assigned activities such as writing proposal content.
- Ability to independently make decisions and be accountable for outcomes.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Must have flexibility of work hours when needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related discipline, required.
- Five (5) years' related experience required.
The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $55,000.00-$65,000.00.
