Job Type Full-timeDescriptionBoulder Imaging is seeking a Technical Writer to join our growing team. This person will contribute directly to the success of the organization by developing accurate and comprehensive documentation that meets departmental needs across the organization.The primary focus of this role is to gain a deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content that includes visuals and other graphics, and that aligns with the voice, tone, and style of the organization. In addition, the individual in this role will identify strategies to improve current content and will align with the new and growing documentation team.RequirementsKey Responsibilities
  • Create, develop, and revise documentation across the company in collaboration with the technical writing team. This documentation could include training manuals, installation guides, curriculum, standard operating procedures, and/or work instructions.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit content while working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Facilitate technical reviews with subject-matter experts and leadership.
  • Help implement and follow a document change control system.
  • Assist in developing a vision for curriculum delivery and an instructor-led training program for clients and global partners.
  • Help with graphics development and the generation of a sophisticated, web-based documentation repository.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify documentation repositories, support change control process through revision changes, and follow protocols for content publishing, distribution, and storage.
  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational standards and allow for easy data migration.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability while maintaining consistency across all documentation.
  • Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content.
  • Collaborate with other technical writers to develop a culture of crafting efficient, accurate, and thorough content, and drive proactive, collaborative documentation initiatives as a team.
  • Assist in maintaining and following an internal documentation style guide.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Two or more years of experience as an effective technical writer.
  • Proven ability to learn and understand complex subject matter quickly.
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals.
  • Superb written communication skills with a keen eye for detail, penchant for correct grammar and punctuation use, and awareness of how to adapt content for different audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with others to improve user experience (ex: design, UI, UX), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams as support content.
  • Aptitude for technical understanding of hardware and software subjects.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Vision for supporting and utilizing language translation of technical documents.
  • Experience with a single sourcing technical writing platform (such as MadCap Flare) preferred.

Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in journalism, communications, or relevant technical field.
  • Professional certification (ex: Society for Technical Communication) a plus.
Salary$60,000 - $85,000/yearBenefits
