Responsibilities

Summary

Tests, calibrates, and repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards, and assists in formulating calibration standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment.

* Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.

* Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.

* Measures parts for conformity with specifications.

* Aligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitry.

* Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment.

* Devises formulas to solve problems in measurements and calibrations.

* Assists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment.

* Maintains records of calibration and assures that all linear instruments in use are within the acceptable calibration period.

* Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook.

* Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements

* Other duties as assigned to ensure customer needs are met.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required. Technical school preferred.

* Five (5) years in a machine shop environment required.

* Quality Assurance experience desired.

Position Pay Range: $24.14 - $34.09 Per Hour. Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education level, qualifications, and experience.
