Job TitleTechnician IIAgencyTexas A&M Agrilife ResearchDepartmentVernonProposed Minimum SalaryCommensurateJob LocationVernon, TexasJob TypeStaffJob DescriptionThe Technician II, under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering or scientific techniques used in research or support laboratories.Responsibilities:Independently pursues an assigned series of processes, procedures, or area of research in accordance with general approved plans and proceduresPlans and executes procedures and work details.Collects, collate, and store samples.Evaluates and analyzes results.Constructs, modifies, adapts, assembles, and operates scientific and laboratory mechanisms and equipment.Use computer equipment for controlling equipment and compiling data.Summarizes and evaluates data for scientific materials requiring academic knowledge.Make and records observations and measurements.Research and catalogs reference materials require understanding of subject matter theory.Plans and supervises technical operation.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.Three years of related experience.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific applications, and computer equipment.Ensures attention to details. Able to multitask and work cooperatively with others.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsOther Requirements:Ability to lift moderately heavy objects. Ability to exert heavy force. Work beyond normal business hours and/or work on weekends.All positions are security-sensitive.
