Position Summary Perform duties to combine chemicals in mixing tank according to specifications, ensuring high quality production. Also tests and treats wastewater for release to city treatment center. Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work from manual, specifications, written and verbal instructions to produce ink or treat wastewater.
  • Strong attention to detail: the ability to complete tasks with accuracy, thoroughness and consistency, while focusing on all aspects of the job.
  • Read and interpret instruction manual; combine chemicals in mixing tank according to specifications.
  • Check viscosity and color and make necessary adjustments to ink.
  • Transfer finished ink from mixing tank to holding tank; clean out mixing tank and transfer lines into waste holding tank
  • Clean floor and tanks; remove empty chemical barrels from work area.
  • Monitor inventory of chemicals; inform supervisor of any requirements.
  • Test wastewater and neutralize color and pH using approved methods and standards before release into the city waste treatment center.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to Supervisor for remedy.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Requirements Experience and Education
  • Above average math skills and the ability to understand calculations.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background screen
  • Strong computer skills
  • Previous chemical blending experience required
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Forklift experience
  • Weight conversion skills

  • The noise level in the work environment is low to medium.
  • May be exposed to noise level that will require hearing protection.
