Summary Provides patient care as directed by the professional registered nurse and/or Physician and is accountable for own actions under this direction. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing and delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity and rights. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities - Carries out initial vision assessment
- Performs auto-refraction measurements
- Conducts pupil and Visual Field assessment
- Performs ophthalmic imaging studies
- Administers anesthetic and dilating medications
- Performs surgical measurements
- Coordinates surgical planning
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience Education Minimum: Knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Preferred: 1 year relevant experience in a clinic, medical office, or hospital setting.
Licensure, Registration, Certification Minimum: BLS within 14 days of hire.
