Mentor, OH location has an immediate opening for M-F 2nd ShiftThe Quality Technician I is responsible for ensuring that RWB products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves performing inspections, tests, and measurements on finished products, materials, or components to ensure compliance with quality specifications. Key responsibilities include identifying and addressing quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining records of quality control data.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform part visual and/or mechanical inspections on components, materials, and in-process or finished products to meet RWB standards and specifications.Record inspection test results as required.Approve finished product inspections for shipment.Perform inspections using various inspection tools (micrometers, height stands, pin gages, bore gages, calipers, air gages, etc.).Encourage and enforce cleanliness and ensure safe working conditions.Maintain documentation and inspection records for auditing in accordance with ISO requirements.Conduct random sample inspections on in-process or shelf stock products.Engage in quality calibrations and internal audits.Ensure measuring equipment is functioning properly and signal for repairs when faulty.Collaborate with management and production managers to ensure quality products are produced.Check and update quality control policies, procedures, and work instructions.Work as a team under the leadership of the quality control supervisor.Assist in inspection analysis and disposition to customer complaints and feedback.Remove non-conforming products discovered during production or inspection processes.Create reports for submission to the Quality Manager/Supervisor.Assist in the development of inspection procedures.Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality processes or products.PROCESSES:Improve productivity and decrease quality issues using lean manufacturing tools including but not limited to:6S PrinciplesRoot cause analysis of problems and help identify appropriate solutions using the 4D/8D model approach.RequirementsEducation: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Experience:Minimum of 3 years of inspection and/or manufacturing environment experience.Minimum of 2 years of ISO experience preferred.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Quality Technician or Inspector is a plus.Computer Skills: Ability to use Excel, Word, and Access effectively.Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must communicate well with all levels of the manufacturing plant and office.Other Skills:Thorough knowledge and ability to use mechanical inspection tools (micrometers, height stands, bore gages, pin gages, calipers, profilometers, hardness testers, air gages, etc.).Knowledge of ISO 9001 is a plus.Operation of other measuring equipment (CMM, Mahr Roundness) is a plus.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
