Title Code:Technician: Special Education Instructional SupportJOB SUMMARYProvides services to students in their current environment. Supports, trains and consults teachers, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams with instructional and behavioral needs of students. Travels daily fromschool to school throughout the county.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES* Works directly with students, teachers and IEP teams to assist with implementing instructional programs, plans, and activities.* Assists with training of therapeutic and/or specialty area techniques to school-based staff.* Collects, maintains, and analyzes data of students, progress and services provided.* Develops recommendations and creates material to support students in their environment.* Models and trains staff members on the recommendations. Provides follow-up and support via observation in the classrooms.* Monitors student behavior in accordance with accepted and appropriate practices and techniques. May employ appropriate physical therapeutic techniques, as necessary.* Consults with professional staff regarding appropriate instructional strategies and specialty area intervention plans.* Attends meetings, conferences, and professional development.* Travels throughout the county to provide services in school-based settings during normal business hours.* Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
